TEACHER: MALINDA SASSU
Food and wine journalist, sommelier for passion, author of Wine, Food & Travel for several wine magazines, paper and online. She has been a lecturer in several sommelier courses and director of the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS) in Washington, making Italian wine a protagonist with the precious support of the Italian Embassy. Malinda has taught sommelier courses and classes in Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and South Carolina.
She has been a judge in several wine competitions and has served on tasting panels for Italian and American competitions and wineries.

Wine Tasting
To teach you to (re)know a wine, we have to let you taste it. That’s why during our courses you will taste 15 different selected labels and visit two of the best wineries in Ischia.

THE COURSE PROGRAM
First day
arrival and welcome drink, delivery of the detailed program
1st Lesson (from 5pm to 8pm): The ABC of wine in few moves: from the correct use of glasses to the opening of the bottle. The etiquette of wine at table and its proper sequence in a menu and, above all, serving wine at the right temperature. How to read a label and many advices for your dinners with friends or at the restaurant. Tasting of three wines: white – red – raisin wine
In the afternoon, visit of Cantine Mazzella
Second Day
2nd Lesson (from 11am to 1pm): From the vine to the bottle Prosecco or sparkling wine? Barrique or tonneau? We will answer these questions by learning how to produce a white, red or sparkling wine. Tasting of three wines: white – red – sparkling.
3rd Lesson (from 16.00 to 18.00): The Wine Tasting: sensory analysis of wine, from the eye to the mouth, passing through the nose. Let’s learn how to taste wine in order to appreciate every nuance. Tasting of three wines: white – red – sparkling wine.
Third Day
4th Lesson (from 10am to 1pm): Rules for a correct food-wine pairing: we will learn how to serve the right wine to the dish, with matching tests during the course. Tasting of two wines: White – Red.
In the afternoon, visit to Tommasone Wine Cellars.

The fee includes
4 days/3 nights stay at Marina 10 Boutique&Design hotel 4*; half board (breakfast and dinner in an external restaurant); water and a selection of wines at dinner; wine course with a professional teacher for the 10 hours of the course distributed in 3 days; didactic material for the course (handout, glasses for tasting, corkscrew); 15 wines for the tastings during the course; visit to two wineries; transfer to and from the wineries; didactic dinner on the last day; course participation certificate.
The fee does not include
Roundtrip travel, transfers on arrival and departure, lunches, personal extras, city tax € 2.00 per person per day and anything not specifically mentioned in “The fee includes”.
The deadline for registration is SUNDAY 24 JANUARY 2022.
Booking conditions
It is required a deposit of 30% of the stay at the time of booking. In case of cancellation, changes or no-show, the deposit will be retained as a penalty.
Balance at the hotel. In case of early departure, will be charged the full amount of the stay.
